Dr. Sullivan's book is thoroughly researched and gives a comprehensive view of the American Civil Rights Movement and Robert Kennedy's role within it. I was most impressed by the author's ability to highlight and show the intersection of the major historical events related to civil rights and race relations prior to and during the 1960's. RFK recognized that race relations and equality were the issues that would truly have a significant impact on America and its future. Tragically, with his life cut short, one wonders where we would be today had he reached his full potential. I strongly recommend this book. As a former history teacher, it was not only a refresher crash course in modern American history, but an eye-opening, encyclopedic look at RFK, his world view, motivations, and profound impact on the nation and its people.
